Sad announcement

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jackie's beloved dog; Lady.

Lady passed away on Saturday 16th May 2009 of age related medical conditions, after a long and happy life at the Sanctuary. Lady was a rescue dog when Jackie welcomed her into her heart and home. During her time at the Sanctuary, Lady cared for and protected many of the distressed cats and kittens finding their way into the shelter of Cat Abuse Treatment Society.

Lady will be greatly missed by Jackie, her Trustees, staff, volunteers and neighbours.

A last goodbye

Little Rosie, was one of our oldest cats and longest residents, she sadly died at the beginning of February. Jackie and all the volunteers are devastated by the loss.

C.A.T.S. Celebrates its 20th Year!

This year Jackie and C.A.T.S celebrate 20 years of animal rescue
It all began in 1989 when Jackie rescued her first cat. At that time, she lived at Nethershire an area within Shiregreen, Sheffield. Unable to pay the vet bill for the injured cat she had found Jackie took to the streets selling second hand clothes to raise funds.
From these small beginnings an animal charity was born. Jackie named this fledgling charity Animal Welfare. With the support of her parents and partner, Alan, Jackie was able to continue raising funds and rescuing cats.

Sponsored Bungee Jump

On Saturday 20th December Gary Simpson completed a bungee jump at The Abyss - Magna. Not only did he overcome his fear of heights, but he also managed to raise over £260 for Sheffield C.A.T.S.
All of us at C.A.T.S. would like to thank Gary for his brave (or perhaps stupid?) jump on behalf of the charity.

The jump itself was kindly donated by Buyagift.com

Charity Night out raised £300

The Sheffield C.A.T.S. social night was a big success. Many of us met up at The Waverley in Catcliffe. We enjoyed live music, raffle, tombola and a lovely buffet.
Best of all the event raised over £300 for the sanctuary.
